While studying theater at North Texas State University (UNT) projects in set and costume design sparked Byron’s interest in design style and trends in Western culture spanning several centuries, the research for which laid the foundation for his extensive library of historical style and furnishings volumes. This interest led to decades of work in fine art and antiques galleries, residential and commercial interior design, then 15 years of store management at a U.S. Top 100 Furniture Retailer first in Texas, then California where he oversaw operations, display, and sales in a location grossing $28M in sales annually, as well as handling all escalated customer issues for the west coast region and implemented a sales training program that was implemented nationally throughout the chain. Byron is an advocate for the benefits of good design, color choices, and textures to enhance one’s environment and improve human experience.
